Hi. My name is Vicky Whitehouse and I am an Associate Governor at Buxton Junior School.
I have lived and worked in Buxton for 14 years and have a son who attends Buxton Junior School so I have a vested interest in the successful development of the school, both as a parent and a local resident.
Career wise, I was initially a primary school teacher and have worked from early years through to Year 6. My PGCE specialism was in Educational Psychology and I am currently working as a chartered Occupational Psychologist for the Department for Education as a learning and development delivery manager. I have also worked as a trainer and consultant for the Health and Safety Executive.
Education, and enabling people to achieve their potential, is my passion and I am thrilled to be back working in the education industry. My new role means that I no longer spend weeks travelling the country and I feel confident that I can now take on the additional responsibility of an associate governor.
I hope to be an asset to the school by being an active and effective governor of the school.
