We follow the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus at Buxton Junior School. Work in R.E is centred around the Christian faith with two other religions being studied alongside this. Our school studies Islam and Sikhism at present. R.E is taught in regular ‘R.E days’. We have chosen to do this to ensure our pupils have a clear overview of different faiths. We also feel we can plan and deliver exciting lessons which are more engaging for our pupils. We aim to promote and support our pupil’s spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development, and prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life through our R.E lessons.
