My name is Marie Dowling and I am proud to be a co-opted governor at Buxton Junior School.
Since leaving university, I have taught in Surrey, Staffordshire, The Wirral and Derbyshire. I am very proud to be Deputy Headteacher here at Buxton Junior School as well as being Well-being co-ordinator and teaching a Year 4 class. Before becoming Deputy Headteacher, I was responsible for English throughout the school and truly believe in encouraging a love of reading by introducing children to a wealth of varied and rich literature. I enjoy being a governor and contributing towards helping our school to create an enriching and stimulating curriculum where everyone can shine! I believe strongly in the value of experiences outside of the classroom (including extra-curricular clubs and trips) to develop the whole child.
I am married with two children and enjoy reading, gardening and skiing.
