My name is Ann Marie Dowling and I am proud to be Acting Headteacher at Buxton Junior School.

Since leaving university, I have taught in Surrey, Staffordshire, The Wirral and Derbyshire. Before becoming Acting Headteacher, I was one of the Deputy Headteachers here at Buxton Junior School and enjoyed playing an instrumental role in driving key policies and behaviour forwards. Having been responsible for English earlier in my teaching career, I truly believe in encouraging a love of reading by introducing children to a wealth of varied and rich literature. I enjoy being a governor and ensuring that our school has an enriching and stimulating curriculum where everyone can shine! I believe strongly in the value of experiences outside of the classroom (including extra-curricular clubs and trips) to develop the whole child.

I am married with two children and enjoy reading, gardening and skiing.
