Welcome from Mrs Minter, the Headteacher 1

Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome to Buxton Junior School

I am delighted to welcome you and thank you for taking time to visit our website.

Buxton Junior School is a popular school currently with 223 pupils on roll. The school’s last Ofsted Inspection was in November 2017 when the school was judged as being "Good". The Inspection team reported on the consistently  good quality of teaching across the school, the good links with parents/carers and the "welcoming environment where pupils' good behaviour and personal qualities flourish". We are not complacent however, and will continue to be focused  on providing the best possible education for your child.

I am proud to be Head teacher of Buxton Junior School; I can assure that my team and I will be working hard to develop the “whole child”. We want your child to be happy, enjoy learning, make excellent progress and fulfil their potential. In our relentless drive for excellence, our aim is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum and ensure high standards in the core subject areas of Reading, Writing and Mathematics. We want all pupils to develop as excellent learners and have excellent social and emotional skills. We also want your child to have memorable experiences during their time with us and be well prepared for the next stage of learning.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to achieve the very best for your child.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me directly on: or ring 01298 22156.

I look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely,

Cecilia Minter
