Hello, my name is Lloyd Marling and I am a parent governor at Buxton Junior School. I am a busy father of two children and in my spare time I am also Head of Mathematics at a school in Congleton with over twenty years’ experience as a classroom teacher. My wife and I moved to Buxton from London in 2003 because it’s the best place in England to live (Trust me, we did the research!). Our two children have grown up here and now attend Buxton Junior School.
I am obviously very interested in how students acquire mathematical knowledge and skills in early years but I am also passionate that this is not to the exclusion of other exciting opportunities for learning. Children learn best in a stimulating, and safe environment with a broad based curriculum that sparks their imagination and creativity.
